Growing up, I was often teased with my last name of Funk. There were so many ways to use the name as well as saying it with an attitude. I still get asked to this day if I'm really related to wrestler Terry Funk. I guess because I'm a wrestling fan, that question won't stop. Overtime, I embraced the name to a point where I would use my name instead of the profane word. So excuse me while I try a bit of humor while addressing my opinions on a couple of matters.
Well, all of us have seen or heard things that make you say "What The Hell?" So I'm going to post some thoughts using my last name frequently in this post. And if you don't like, Funkin' read something else!
Evgeni Plushenko's complaining and the media
For those following the Winter Olympics, you've probably heard about Plushenko winning the silver medal while Evan Lysacek took gold in men's figure skating. Plushenko proceeded to funkin' slander Lysacek for not performing the quadruple jump, which isn't required in funkin' figure skating. Further, he couldn't recognize Lysacek for winning the gold, and his other funkin' antics such as showing up late to watch other skaters as well as turning his back to a performer on camera show a complete lack of funkin' sportsmanship on his part.
In turn, the funkin' media has repeatedly questioned Lysacek about all this while not giving him his funkin' time to reflect on the glory of winning a gold medal. Regardless of what country you're from, no one deserves to be funkin' pestered with questioning when he had nothing to do with the funkin' scoring system in place. I had no problem with the judge's scoring, but Lysacek deserves better than being funkin' slandered by a funkin' guy he idolized as well as by the media for the mere thought of him not deserving the gold medal! Sorry, but WHAT THE FUNK?!?!?!
Internet hacker who took advantage of friends
I'm really funkin' tired of this hacker who took advantage of my friend Amiable Amy. You can read about it here and here. The impostor continues to funkin' cause problems and has scammed her friends out of money as well as hacked her family emails, too. The NBI and FBI have been contacted about this matter.
I realize this is a funkin' problem on the internet, but this one has really gotten personal as the impostor hasn't been stopped yet. It's a dangerous funkin' thing to mess with family and money. The nerve of those funkin' scammers, I tell ya! WHAT THE FUNK?!?!?!
As far as these posts are concerned, I don't care if you don't like my funkin' attitude!
Feel free to comment about anything you've seen or heard recently that makes you think to yourself, "What The Funk?" or "What The Hell?"

LOL!! What the funk!!
But really Plushenko was displaying bad sportsmanship. Sore loser, much?
I'm headed over to those two articles you linked to.. wanna read more about those hacker scammers! What the FUNK!!! :-P :-P :-P
Hi Shemah! :* :* :*
I knew the title would get people's attention! Besides, it can be fun using my last funkin' name sometimes! :-D :-D :-D
Yes, I agree. I understand being competitive, but Lysacek hasn't been given much of a chance to relish his moment of glory at all because of him and the media.
Thanks Shemah! I'll have your badge up shortly! ;) :)
:* :* :* :*
FC 2, Mariuca! :* :* :*
Hi David, I adore the Funk bit of ur name, it's so cool! :* :* :* :* :*

Mariuca, at least she is recovering a bit, but the problem is the hacker is still on the loose. >:o >:o >:o
No worries, Mariuca. I've made plenty of grammatical errors to last my entire life! LOL! :-D :-D
hahaha..well, " what a funk" sounds better than what a hell! hahahha.. for me! So maybe i will ask permission from u to use what a funk from this time on instead of the usual! heheh.
good day my friend!
I SO hope they catch that hacker!
despicable actions!
Hi Janet!
Funkin' right "What The Funk" sounds better, and don't you funkin' forget it! LOL!!!! :-D :-D :-D
Yeah, you better check with me first before using that without my permission!
Thanks for the comment! :* ;) :)
CCC, I was pretty upset when Amy first told me about that because it was just the night before that I was talking to her about the Saints winning the Super Bowl. Then to involve her friends and family really made me want to help her out.
I wanted to have a little fun with this, but also still address a couple of issues, too. With the NBI in the Philippines and FBI here, I would think this would be taken care of shortly. I'll definitely let you know what happens with this, and I completely agree those actions are despicable indeed.
Thanks for the comment! :) :)
What the funk! Holly Cranberry David Funk! lol.....:) this is very entertaining....:)
What The Funk, Dhemz?! No, HCB line this time?! :-D :-D :-D
Glad you enjoyed this. Sometimes, it's really fun to use my last name on things such as this! :) :)
Is that really your last name? I thought it was a screen name...hehehe
Yes Bingkee, that is my real last name. I laughed that you thought it was a screen name, too. :-D :-D
Now i know why your last name is Funk. Lol :-D
This is so FUNKY, David! :) :) :) :) :)
You're one funky guy to have been blessed with a beautiful funky name! :-)
This is so funny...I was just thinking about your last name the other day when I saw you comment, and now here you are posting about it! I'm sure you did get teased as a kid, but maybe that's because you came up in the wrong era. See....if you had grown up in the 70's, when "funk"music was born, I think, then your name would have been as cool as James Brown. The man, not his name! The group Parliament Funkadelic made a song that says "we want the funk, gotta have the funk"...and you coulda been boppin' around singing that song feeling just as cool as you please! I'm just sayin'! ..... ;)
Sure, there are many meanings to the word funk (damn, and I was thinking about that too...like being "in a funk"), but if I were you, I'd be telling anyone that laughed at my name "you wish your last name was as cool as mine...stop hating!" seriously! lol! It's almost as good as having the last name "Love", but not quite! ;) Just thought I'd share my thoughts on the whole thing! :D
Yeah, that's funkin' correct, tripzibit. :-D :-D :-D
:) :) :) :) :)
Funkin' right Lainy, and don't you ever funkin' forget it! ;) :)
Fitness Diva, it was funny for me when I wrote this because it was a day after I commented on your "professionalism" post. It seems I broke away from that with this entry! LOL!
I was born in 1974, so I can't claim I really grew up in that era.
"We want the funk, gotta have the funk" was something I heard people singing A LOT when I worked in retail, although I wasn't familiar with who sung it. In fact, I wasn't called David when I worked in retail, but "The Funk" instead. That's why I posted the pic of the cake even though the person on it is someone that could actually learn professionalism lessons....from you! LOL!
I definitely embrace the name now for sure. Maybe I could have told those people "funk you" if you didn't like the last name, but that would have meant detention for me. LOL!
Funk 'em if people don't like that last name! LOL!
Thanks for the great comment, Fitness Diva! ;) :)
:-D Wordless again D.. :-[ :( ;)
I feel your pain. With a last name like Lester, you can only imagine how many mental giants came up with the witty nickname Mo.
:-D :-D :-D
Yeah Lester, I can see that was something you dealt with as well. But I did embrace it, so I'm all good with it now seeing that many like it anyway.
Well done David .... no play that funkin music?
