It was four years ago yesterday on August 14, 2005 that I wrote my first blog entry on the internet via Sporting News. Even though it has since been deleted, I recall how I didn't even know what the term "blog" was at the time. At the time, the Sporting News website had relaunched with community interaction in the form of blogging, message boards, and the ability to comment on editorials, too.
That first entry I wrote had talked about the upcoming 2005 NFL season. When I first started on Sporting News, I strictly wrote about sports. But after a period of time, I got bored with that. Then I started using more creativity with blog commercials to promote other blogs while still discussing sports. Then that is when everything changed.
The blog expanded to write parody music, raps, blogger movies, wrestling storylines, and anything else besides sports despite some objecting to it because of those entries not being sports related. The wrestling storylines involving bloggers really is my favorite thing to do because it makes them out to be stars.
The idea for creating BWE(Blog Wrestling Entertainment) started in 2002 when my real-life friend Sabre Blade and I would create wrestling names and finishing moves for everyone working at Office Depot. I will get back to talking about Sabre Blade later.
For three years, I posted on Sporting News while also trying Blogger.com on my own. The first time wasn't a pleasant experience because it was really difficult with hardly any tools to work with.
Then in the summer of 2008, I decided to give it a go again on Blogger.com after talking with Sabre Blade. At first, this blog was called Fantasy Sports Depot where I talked about sports, fantasy gaming, and anything related to those. I had other blogs as well, but ran out of time to maintain them though I use one strictly for testing. When I took my vacation during the Thanksgiving last year, I thought of changing the name and buying my own domain. Thus, Basic Bloganomics was born. Things were finally different.
Being different for me is something I'm used to and thrive upon. Owning my own domain allows me to post what I want, when I want, how I want, and be as different as I want. But I'm still kind and supportive to my friends and you run your own sites the way you want to.
To help me out was the many friends I've made on Sporting News over these four years. You look around real hard on my site, and you'll notice quite a few of us from there on our own now. But then in 2009, this blog allowed me to meet international friends from all over the world. I had seen my friend Maxi and Tripzibit use chat boxes to help them out with that which worked very well for me, too.
Times change, people change, the world changes. Always has, always will. Change is inevitable, and the internet as well as blogging is another indication of that. This post is evident of that, too. As with time, I've seen friends come and go for whatever reasons. Still, I'm glad to have many including many outside the United States.
Now I'm going to thank some of those that have been supportive and influential in the growth of me as a blogger and with this site.
Sabre Blade: He was the one who helped me get started on Blogger.com. When you click his link, you'll notice the many blogs he has. He makes good money at blogging, and knows what he's talking about. We go back over seven years from our crazy days working together at Office Depot where the roots of BWE began. Yes, he's quite the wrestling fan like me. Oh yeah, he's a cancer survivor, too.
Paul Huffaker: He was one of the first friends I had from SN, and he took his show to his own site last year, too. Not only that, he's been a part of helping me to write storylines for BWE. We've seen a lot of good and bad with blogging on the internet, and he's a big reason why I still do this. Although he doesn't blog as often these days, he's one of the most creative people I know and is quick to defend his friends, too. Thanks Paul!
Lester's Legends: Even though I haven't visited his site as much lately, we've also seen a lot on the internet while going back to the days when we first crossed paths on SN. Nonetheless, he was the first person to follow this site and link me while getting things going in the right direction. Plus, I'll still never forget when we both did phone interviews with Business Week magazine about the evolution of fantasy football on the internet found
here. Keep it rockin' over at Lester's Legends!
3rdStoneFromTheSun: Another one of my buddies from SN, he's the man when it comes to the NFL and American football. I recall when I first started my blog that he came along not long after with his own. This guy will tell you like it is whether you agree with him or not, and no one writes better football posts than him! You da man 3rdStone!
A Frank Angle: Of course being the only gold medal winning blogger in BWE history will land you on this list! All kidding aside, there isn't anyone I've seen that combines intelligence and objectiveness to his writing like he does. Plus, we've had some great discussions on various and important topics. Yes, he's another one of us from SN that ventured on his own and has continued to do well with it.
Rad: I remember last year when Rad and I crossed paths on the internet. From there on, we've discussed advice and other topics towards blogging. I'm glad he returned to blogging, and that he's always emailing me for questions to help out with on his blog.
Maxi Velasco: I recall when I first met Maxi when she left a message on my chat box. From there on, she has continued her reputation as the undisputed queen of blugging me(that's blogging and bugging combined to make "blugging" in case you didn't know). Nonetheless, Maxi and I have become good online friends which was solidified when she helped promote BWE Promotions with her
own signing. Funny stuff. She also directed me to paid posting sites which I use as well, and we have supported and backed each other up on issues, too. Thanks my dear blugging queen of a friend!
Tripzibit: You and Maxi were my first international friends on my blog. Because of that, your country of Indonesia draws the second most traffic on my site behind the one I live in. Not only that, he was the first person to pass me a blog award which I now get from people all over the world. Thanks buddy!
DJ Tammy: Yes, the July cover girl for BWE magazine has become a good friend of mine on here. Hopefully it will remain that way despite the pending lawsuits she has against me for hurting her tummy through humorous abuse! LOL! I appreciate the kind gesture of her allowing me to use her photos for the
BWE Disclosed magazine post. She's always promoting my blog with entries she likes, too. She's outspoken and sexy, but a very sweet friend to have.
Amy: Amy is someone that is so loyal and no one speaks more highly of her friends than she does even though she is suing me for injuring her jaw as a result of my posts. LOL! Whether it is blog issues or humor, Amiable Amy is the name that fits her perfectly. I'm glad you are a dear blogger friend of mine on here.
Now I hope I don't miss anyone, but I'm also going to mention the following blogger friends of mine. Also, just because I didn't write something about you here doesn't mean I think of you any less as a blogger friend to those I did talk about. Your support and visits are much appreciated which are the biggest reasons why I like blogging. Anyway....

As part of my 4th Anniversary, the WBE Blog of Fame voting will resume right here in Basic Bloganomics! This means at the end of the year, one of you maybe elected by the community to be into the WBE Blog of Fame! Details will be coming very soon.
Also, BWE's next PFV,
No Recovery!, will be coming soon! I've been very busy in trying to get the script written out, but it will happen. A date for when I post the PFV will happen soon.
Thanks everyone and this is Basic Bloganomics! Word Life!
