Six Unimportant Things That Make Me Happy

My great "Beyond Hot" friend Tammy tagged me with this one a long time ago. This tag is all about those things that are not really important yet for some reasons, they bring happiness into our everyday lives that spending money for them is not a waste for they make us happy. Note: This will be heavily related to sports, and I don't have much of other things of note that I would deem unimportant to talk about it. So here is my list of 6 unimportant things:

1. Oklahoma Sooners collection
The Oklahoma Sooners are my favorite team in all of sports. This is a model of Owen Field at Memorial Stadium which is their football home. I have several pieces of memorabilia for the Sooners, but this model is by far my favorite. Every time I look at it, it reminds me of the days when I was a little boy living there cheering for them. If it wasn't for my mom being stationed there via the Air Force, they wouldn't have become my team. Even long after moving from there, the Sooners and the state of Oklahoma will always hold a special place for me. That model is there as a reminder for me.

2. Walter Payton collection
As most of you know, I'm a huge Chicago Bears fan and Payton is my favorite NFL player of all time. Also, I've collected his football cards for awhile now, and this one is of his rookie card in 1976 made by Topps. I actually own two of them(yes, the photo is actually of one I own), and one I got a great deal on at eBay around the time of his death in 1999. For those of you who don't know and have never heard of him, read about him. I'll never forget when I went to Chicago in 2000 to see the Bears play the Giants, and I stayed in a hotel in Arlington Heights where he lived before. After arriving at the hotel, I stopped by a drug store to pick up some stuff. I was wearing a Walter Payton jersey, and a manager told me that is where he shopped all the time and used their pharmacy for his kids, too. Had I not worn that jersey, I doubt I would have known that. I thought that was very cool! And, I have more Chicago Bears stuff like a Brian Urlacher jersey and more of his cards, too.

3. Michael Jordan collection
Obviously, you're seeing I'm a huge sports fan and I like Chicago sports. The Bulls were my team, and I have a collection of Jordan memorabilia although not near as much as the Sooners and Payton. Besides, most anyone that has Jordan memorabilia knows that much of it comes with a big price tag. That said, I still have many of his cards, and I'm hoping to one day meet him face to face. That is one of my future goals.

4. Chicago Cubs collection
This is my favorite baseball team. I have cards and figures of some of their great players of the game like Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, and others. I haven't messed with collecting in about 9-10 years, so I don't have much of anything that is new.

5. U.S. and World Maps
These didn't cost much, but I'm always reminded of places in the world as well as imagination every time I see them. I have one of each that is 3'x 4' and they are really detailed. I've had these for about 7-8 years.

6. North Carolina Tarheels 1982 National Championship Pepsi bottles
I have these packed up because of the fact they're old and have been faded in color over time. However, the bottles have never been open. For those who are unaware, this was a special UNC team in 1982. Michael Jordan hit a game-winning jump shot against Georgetown as they won the title that year in college basketball. We all know what happened to him after that. My dad got these from a friend of his at work, and gave them to me. Since UNC is my second favorite basketball team, I have them now. My dad is more of a NASCAR and hunting collector anyway.

I'm going to pass this to Paul H, Lester, Frank, Mo, and anyone else who has not done this tag yet because I believe just about everyone else has anyway. Don't worry, more tags are coming later today!

Farreys.com: The Place For Lamps

In 1924, Farreys.com came into existence in Miami, Florida in a warehouse. Since that time, they've established themselves as a major distributor in a wide range of lamps and brands in the lighting industry.

One of the best features about Farreys.com that I took immediate notice of is the very convenient lamp product search. They give you five different options to find the kind of lamp you're looking for.

Because I use my desk lamp a lot of the time, I wanted to find another black finished one that is ideal for my desk. The search enabled me to narrow my choices down easily by price and brand.

If you're in the market for a table lamp, they offer a wide range of the House of Troy brand.

House of Troy also has very nicely designed floor lamps from their High Ball Collection. It you're needing a black and chrome finish, then look no further than the High Ball Collection because they have nice styling, too.

No matter type, style, brand, or finish, Farreys.com will have a lamp that suits what you need and what you're looking for. Check them out today!

2009 Chicago Bears Draft Analysis

Since the NFL Draft is now complete and the Chicago Bears are my favorite team, I'm going to post my thoughts on their draft picks. As most everyone knows, the Bears traded out of the first round to land Jay Cutler from Denver. Then they traded down into the 3rd Round with Seattle on Saturday. Those of us Bears fans know that this is more like Jerry Angelo's style to trade down in the draft rather than making a splash like he did with Cutler. That said, I thought he made the right call to do that considering that he landed guys that can do key things that the team needs to be better at in 2009.

3rd Round, 68th Overall: defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert, San Jose State
As I've said to a few people online, the Bears had five games without a sack a year ago and lost all those games. Gilbert is an excellent value where he was taken, and is versatile, too. He's explosive, and can get up field after the quarterback which is what Bears defensive system is for lineman.

3rd Round, 99th Overall: wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias, Oklahoma
The Bears have had a recent history in taking Oklahoma players(Tommie Harris, Dusty Dvarocek, Mark Bradley), and that is of course my favorite college team. Anyway, Iglesias is a tough receiver that can contribute to the Bears immediately. He's not incredibly fast, but does most everything else well on the field. He doesn't solve the wide receiver problem, but still is a good pick by the Bears.

4th Round, 105th Overall: defensive end Henry Melton, Texas
As I've said, the Bears needed to bolster the pass rush and they did that with their first two out of three picks. I think he and Gilbert can be situational pass rushers in their rookie year. Besides, the Bears had many problems in third down situations a year ago, and so this pick makes more sense knowing that.

4th Round, 119th Overall: cornerback D.J. Moore, Vanderbilt
Like most people, I didn't think Moore would be here this late and thought maybe the Bears would take him higher, too. Size and speed hurt his stock, but that doesn't take away the value of this pick at all. Anyone that follows the Bears knows that health has been a problem in the secondary, so adding depth as well as someone that can develop into a starter is a good pick. Besides, the Bears run a Cover 2 scheme which doesn't require a speedy corner all the time anyway.

5th Round, 140th Overall: wide receiver Johnny Knox, Abilene-Christian
Jerry Angelo typically likes speedy players late in the Draft, and Knox is no exception. The only knocks on him were his size and that he needs to get stronger. The competition at the college level hurt his grade, too. But he played well through injuries which will always earn you respect from teammates in the NFL. He's got speed and upside, so there's nothing wrong with taking a shot here.

5th Round, 154th Overall: linebacker Marcus Freeman, Ohio State
I thought Freeman would be gone by this point, and the Bears addressed another need for linebacker depth here. Freeman is an athletic player and can cover running backs and tight ends. He has the ability to play any linebacker position and also has played on special teams before, too.

6th Round, 190th Overall: safety Al Afalaya, Oregon State
Afalaya is a fast safety so the need for speed continues to be the theme for the Bears. From what I read, the Bears gave him a private workout so they apparently thought enough of him for the selection.

7th Round, 246th Overall: tight end Lance Louis, San Diego State
This guy is an athletic freak of nature, and played on the offensive line due to injury the last two years in college. I think with where he was taken, the Bears will likely try to develop him into a tackle at the next level. He is a great run blocker and does have the attitude for the position. The upside and athleticism is there.

7th Round, 251st Overall: wide receiver Derek Kinder, Pittsburgh
Kinder's best shot is to play on special teams. Being they drafted two other receivers to go along with what they have now, Kinder's chances don't look good on making the team.

Overall Grade: B-
I think not having a pick in the first two rounds hurts them from being higher. Also, many question why a natural tackle was selected. They signed Orlando Pace, Kevin Shaffer, and Frank Omiyale which allowed them to address other needs. Although Pace is the only projected starter, they have depth at the position now. Plus, they can still develop Louis as a tackle, too.

The wide receiver position certainly isn't solved with this draft, but depth is not as much of concern now. I think they have talent and a good corps, but not a go-to guy that they've needed for a long time. However, the acquisition of Cutler should help them all.

My biggest concern was addressing the pass rush as well as depth in the secondary. Moore was an excellent value and Gilbert and Melton can be used in third-and-long situations which as I pointed out was a problem a year ago. Freeman is another athletic, versatile guy that adds depth to the linebacking corps.

Overall, I think the Bears drafted players with good upside and could see them fair well at the NFL level. I have them with this grade and I like the value they got with players on the second day after not picking the first day.

TheCarConnection.com

TheCarConnection.com was first launched in 1997, and provides inside information in the industry as well as reviews, newest releases, and advice. They are indeed the Wed Automotive Authority for their extensive and detailed coverage throughout the industry.

They've also got news on the latest line of pickup trucks including an inside look at the 2010 Ford F-150. The Ford F-150s are nice trucks, but the gas mileage is still going to be a problem for some potential buyers.

I looked at the BMW X6 and I immediately took notice of the expensive price. You add all the features and attachments to this, and it isn't hard to see why it is out of most people's price range although the design looks very nice.

The more affordable mid-sized truck is the 2009 Nissan Frontier. In tough economic times for those who need a truck, this would be your better option.

The 2009 Toyota Scion tC is very affordable, and is more loaded with features and safety than most consumers think. I personally like the sporty look.

Overall, I like the honest opinions, extensive and detailed reviews, and insider info that you can't get anywhere else. Whether you're looking for a new vehicle or want more information on the one you're looking for, TheCarConnection.com is the place to visit first before buying!

I'm going to suggest that they come with a Blogging and Posting License for you to pass before becoming legal to post. There are learner's permits for those bloggers under the age of 18, and with parental consent. You can purchase insurance for your blog, and a number of factors for the site you have as well as past blogging history effects your rate.

You can also have your Blogging and Posting License revoked for offenses should you break any. An approved blogger or poster will conduct testing which they'll determine if you've passed or failed to gain a Blogging or Posting License.

Here are the list of blogging offenses and the punishment/penalties for each are.

BUI(Blogging Under Influence) & BWI(Blogging While Intoxicated): At random, you'll be asked to submit an Entrylyzer Test which will cause an immediate suspension of your license if it returns positive. So it is wise not to slur your writing or make any kind of obscene remarks to possibly subject you to testing. If you're drinking, you should get a designated blogger to write for you.

Aggressive Blogging: This is when someone misbehaves on their own blog with constant entries which can lead to more serious offenses. They maybe intending to harm other bloggers on purpose, too. Also, this could mean that the person takes what someone said personally, and aggressively posts about numerous times in row.

Blog Rage: This is an extreme case of aggressive blogging which can cause accidents with bloggers causing your connection to crash or go unresponsive. Leaving rude remarks or gestures, following too closely, purposely cutting off or preventing other people from commenting, and verbal and physical threats in your entries are signs of blog rage.

Blog Speed Limit: This is the maximum speed allowed for blogs around the world. Depending on what country you blog in, this is variable. This is defined as when you're accelerating the number of entries that you should be posting in any given hour and how many grammatical mistakes exist, too. If you have many entries in an hour while having too many writing mistakes, it could give you a ticket if caught. Some countries will allow a 1-2 maximum per hour while some have more.

Hit-and-run or drive by posting: This is when a poster or blogger makes a comment, and then leaves immediately thereafter. Most of the time, the post has nothing to do with the topic at hand and can in an insulting or attacking manner. Actually, this is a real term.

Blogular blogicide: This is intentionally killing off another blog with your own by anonymous or known personal attacks or insults.

If any of the laws are broken, you're subject to suspension of your Blogging or Posting License for a determined amount of time. Or it could be completely revoked in extreme cases as well as an expensive rise in blogging insurance.

Here are some violent posting and blogging crimes:

Bloguse: An intent to harm physically or mentally on a blogger(s) or blog(s).

Blogsault: This is when someone forcefully engages commenters into abusive activity without their consent.

Blogattery: This is unlawful posts of violence by continuous force and posting at someone in an offensive manner.

Blogamage: To damage someone's blog with making it impossible for the owner to access or to purposely delete without consent.

Bloggery: To purposely or forcefully take away a blog from someone by invoking fear or intimidation with either verbal abuse or with the threat of weapons.

Blognapping: To take away a person's blog against their will. This is sometimes done for a ransom or bigger crime for the person(s) committing it.

Blogslaughter: This is deliberately killing off another's blog by making it only accessible to himself.

Blurder: This is deliberately killing off another's blog by completely deleting it forever.

Blogssination: Is the targeted killing off of a public blog.

Serial bloggings: This is a string of killing off blogs by the same person or group.

Blogicide: This is intentionally killing off your own blog by deletion.

Negligent blogicide: This is when a person allows another blog or blogger to be deleted while it is being taken out.

Contract bloggings: This is when a private contractor or government official hires another to take out a blog or blogger.

Bloglifting: This is when elements, entries, or other property is stolen from a blogger(s) or blog(s).

Blogbreaking: This is when a person breaks into a blog after being banned in order to commit an offense. Most of the time, this is stealing of some sort.

Blogotage: This is when a person not owning a site they're writing at either obstructs, destructs, or manipulates to weaken the owner's blog. Many times, the person destroys the owner's Google Ranking or traffic ranking in some form.

Blog of Passion: This is when crime is committed against a known blogger(s) or blog(s) in which blogsault or blurder is used on another because of jealousy or possible heartbreak. The majority of the time, this can be caused by the removal of friends, links, or blogs that the accused person retaliates with blogsault or blurder.

Blogjury: This is when a blogger or blog deliberately lies under oath, either verbally or written, when in a court hearing that affects the outcome of a blogger crime.

If convicted of any of the offenses, the blogger(s) or blog(s) will be subject to registering as a Posting Offender. This means that a logo identifying the Posting Offender will appear everywhere on the internet. They must declare themselves a Posting Offender on every site they sign up on. On a blog, the logo must appear on the first break of the page so that readers can know immediately upon visiting a registered Posting Offender's site or page.

These are the punishments you can receive for any of the crimes mentioned here should it be deemed necessary:

Blogecution: This is the execution of a blogger or blog which permanently deprives someone of blogging, posting, or commenting anywhere on the internet forever.

Virus injection: Injecting a blog with a virus that kills it off completely. Most of the time, this is done after a serious blog offense is committed by the blog or blogger receiving the virus.

Blog chamber: This is when a blogger or blog is put in a sealed chamber filled with viruses that destroy it or files completely in a slow manner.

Bloggings squad: This is where bloggers freely fire at the guilty blogger(s) or blog(s) with comments and/or insults that aren't necessarily appropriate before the accuser is put off the internet for good.

Blogament: This is where another blogger written in on a document to manage his or her blog upon death of the owner.

2009 Blog Championship Series

Coming this summer to Basic Bloganomics will be the 2009 BCS! No, no, no, no, no! Not the Bowl Championship Series, but the Blog Championship Series! The Blog Championship Series will be a 16-blogger single elimination tournament to determine the overall winner. If, and only IF, there is enough interest shown, I'll consider expanding the tournament to 32 bloggers. However, we would have to have 32 bloggers to accomplish this to prevent an uneven bracket from taking place. If for instance only 25 are signed up, then only the first 16 that submitted entries will be allowed to take part provided they have met all eligible requirements.

However, there will be two tournaments: The Reader's Choice and Judge's Choice winners. The Reader's Choice will be determined by you, the readers. The Judge's Choice will be determined by three impartial judges. Everyone makes one entry, and that post will be used throughout both tournaments. So make your post count!

Here are the rules and qualifications:

1. It is a first come, first serve rule for the first 16 bloggers that enter unless more interest is shown to expand to 32.
2. You must have your own blog, and it has to be at least one month old or have 20 blog entries to enter. It must be written in English, and cannot be copied from anywhere or anyone.
3. One user can't enter more than one blog in the tournament. If it is discovered that a participant has signed up under more than one user name or blog, they'll be disqualified from the tournaments. There are no exceptions to this rule. One user, one blog.
4. You can only submit one entry URL. It is okay to edit your entry at anytime until the tournament begins, but it must valid. Once you submit your entry to me, you cannot submit another. Also, if the link is deleted or moved at anytime, your entry will be disqualified from being used in the tournament.
5. All entries must be at least 200 words in length, but there is no limit to how long your entry can be.
6. The tournament brackets will be drawn out at random, and will not be released until after the deadline has been reached. Both the Reader's Choice and Judge's Choice brackets will be the same, but the outcomes of each could be determined differently.
7. Your blog must list one of the badges(listed below). You can put the badge on your submitted entry if you choose, too. I would like sponsors to put the badge up as well, too.
8. A valid email must be listed on your profile or blog to contact you. If you have a valid Yahoo Messenger ID, that is acceptable, too. This is done so I can talk or communicate directly and privately with you should a problem or issue come up. If I have your valid email or YM already, then you don't need to worry about this.
9. The deadline for entries to be submitted is June 30, 2009. I have many other projects on the horizon in mind for the site, so I'm giving all participants over two months as of now to come up with their qualifying entries. The tournaments will be posted after the deadline.
10. Hateful, obscene, insulting, or excessive use of profanity in posts will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic removal from winning and participating in the tournaments.

The following rules will be strongly enforced:

1. Do NOT request or ask who is judging the Judge's Choice bracket. I'm going to select three impartial judges, and no one will know who they are at anytime. Also, the judges cannot and will not be participants in the BCS. However, the judges can be sponsors for the BCS. This is done to protect them from possible ridicule or bribing of any sort.
2. The Reader's Choice voting will be determined by polls for each match-up that is listed. Participants can vote for themselves if they choose. However, if it is discovered that any participant votes for themselves more than once, their entry will be disqualified for the tournament.
3. I realize that more than likely, many(if not all) participants that take part are currently blogger friends of mine. However, I will be very fair and objective with the rules of this meaning that no one will be getting special treatment or allowed to break any of the rules. The playing field will be fair for everyone that participates, and all of you have to abide by the same set of rules regardless if I know you or not.

Enjoy the contest/tournaments while also helping other bloggers with more exposure and friendships. In the end, I'm hoping everyone will abide by the rules of fair play while continuing to help build the community.

What your post should be about:

The theme of your post will be on the same lines as what PinayJade is currently doing in her contest. The theme of your post is to review the Basic Bloganomics website in at least 200 words. You can talk about anything including, but not limited to: favorite posts, layout, load time, accessibility, etc. There is no limit as to how creative you can be, and it is up to you to make your entry stand out!

I, and the judges, prefer honest and objective answers as well as constructive criticism as to how this site can be improved if you feel that is the case. I will not accept any entry that is full of hate, insults, or profanity, so don't waste your time if that is your intention. I, or the judges, will not mind criticism in a civil manner because part of why I'm doing this is to see what people like and how to improve.

DEADLINE AGAIN is June 30, 2009

Sponsors and offerings
Here's the list of sponsors that are helping with the Blog Championship Series. Sponsors can donate anything they want and have no limits to how much they want to give to help out. However, one of my immediate needs will be someone to design the Reader's Choice and Judge's Choice trophies which the winners of each will be allowed to post them on their own blog. Also, they'll be posted in the WBE Blog of Fame as well. Everyone that takes part will be given a prize, and winners will obviously get more. The prizes for everyone will be determined after the sponsors have submitted their donations. Here are the sponsors.......

Captured Tag

One of my very dear blogger friends Tammy gave me this tag in what seems like centuries ago. Because of issues with my digital camera, I decided to post a picture I had taken yesterday from my cell phone. Tammy calls me Mr. D which the first letter of my name is what many call me these days which is cool.

Thanks Tammy for sharing this tag and always thinking of me for awards/tags. Here's my CAPTURED PICTURE

} Start Copy

" A good Snapshot stops a moment from running away."

When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls! ~Ted Grant

} End of Copy

The picture was taken yesterday while I was out at a friend's place. Yes, that is a real chain that I'm grabbing and it is heavy, too. The shirt I have on says "Psycho Path" on it, and a logo on above the lettering. Now you know that I do have a shirt that says that which in a sense is true when it comes to some of the crazy stuff I do. LOL! Funny thing is, I was returning home last night wearing this shirt, and I had to go through a license check close to where I live. Of course, the officer was asking me if I drink which of course I don't at all anyway. He noticed the shirt, and I thought, "Uh oh!" LOL! Well, that would have really brought new meaning to this tag for being captured if I was thrown in jail at the license check! Still, the chain and the word "captured" go together as it is anyway.

Now, Here is the rule in doing the Tag:

Copy the quotes above from start copy to end Copy.
Replace the Photograph with your own or your loves ones' Black and White captured moments that you want to cherish for the rest of your life.

I would like to share this tag to my friends who would like to capture some precious moments through photograph. I know many have done this one already, but I'll mention a few to pass this to: Paul H, Lester's Legends, A Frank Angle, Jennie, Stacey, Lainy, Star, Aline Sharon, and levian and anyone else that wants to grab this tag. Thanks again to my Beyond Hot friend Tammy!

ShopWiki Guide For Strollers

As time has gone on, the stroller industry has evolved so much to provide more specific features consumers are looking for. Now you can find a different variety of strollers at one place. Whether it is a lightweight or tandem strollers, ShopWiki has a free public search to find the one you're looking for.

One of the recommended strollers that is very convenient to use is the travel systems or all-in-one brands. They have a removable carrier which can be used as a care seat that allows you to take the baby from a car directly to the stroller without waking them. For parents that are active, jogging strollers can be used to stay fit while taking your baby along with you. Jogging strollers are more durable and come in a variety of sizes as well as different degrees of intensity for parents.

Stroller accessories can also be found for those looking to soup up your own stroller.

Blog Community Rap

Before I start, I want to thank those who linked my BWE Throwdown! post recently. Because of you, it has been widely read by many people on the internet. Also, my new friend Titan made mention of me for the Neno's Award which I already received.

Now, I'm in the mood to rap today. Some of you call it poetry, but I can rap in slow time just like John Cena used to do on television. In fact, I've done it at previous places I've worked. So here is my Blog Community Rap/Poetry for my blogger friends....

"You come to visit my blog, and you never know what I'll post next,
I've been called crazy or insane for stuff I write in text,

Sporting News is where I met Lester's Legends - real name Ryan Lester,
Listen to his fantasy advice, or you'll look worse than Uncle Fester,

Then there's Paul H, who writes a whole lot of sports on the Soapbox,
His tyranny in EBW might put his whole blogging career on the rocks,

The Finest in hip argot is what you see at Mo's Marketplace,
The BWE Champion is what he is, and he's very easy to trace,

A Frank Angle always posts his thoughts from an Inner Mind,
His objective and professional ways make his place easy to unwind,

3rdStoneFromTheSun is the man when it comes to American pro football,
His sites take a look at days and players that should be in the Hall,

PCW is Political Championship Wrestling with great in-ring action,
And American Heartland Bar & Grill promotes strong interaction,

I can't forget my friend Maxi, who claims laziness and is a friendly blugger,
Her blogs are home runs without using a Louisville Slugger,

Twinks, the vampire, claims I ruined her sweet image,
She's still sweet, but don't ever cross her line of scrimmage,

If you knew Anything About Life, you'll visit my sweet friend Arnie,
Arnie's a kid at heart like the Flintstones, buy she's no Fred or Barney,

DJ Tammy sometimes reminds me to stop by if I forgot,
Forgetful Princess or Calendar Blogger's blogs are both "Beyond Hot",

Tripzibit is a great friend, and his blog is a hint of mystery,
He has another side to him, but still knows a lot about history,

With Lainy's blog, I look forward to every contest endeavor,
I'm glad to take part in the friendship on the Journey To Forever,

Lainy did surprise me when she posted about being co-workers with Star,
Star has a great blog, and her sweet personality is way above par,

OpticsPlanet.com Binoculars

Have you ever went hunting, hiking, or to a sporting event where you really wished you had a pair of binoculars? I have, and I can tell you it makes so much of a difference if you have a pair with you.

Last December, I attended one of the best rivalry football games when Navy defeated Army at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. On this occasion, I made sure I had my Bushnell 12x25 PowerView Binoculars with me even though I had very good seats on the lower level. I used them throughout the game and was able to see ex-President George W. Bush up close with them after he come out of the same corner of the stadium I was sitting at before kickoff.

I was able to see every single player's face really well because of the binoculars which made the experience unforgettable. Even if you're on the lower level at any sporting facility, a pair of binoculars are must.

Every time I travel, I bring mine with me especially when I go into the Appalachian Mountains where relatives live. I have done a lot of traveling either for vacation or employment, and have used them when I stop for a rest to get a better breath-taking view of mountainous areas I've been to.

After not using them at sporting events and while traveling, I can honestly say I make sure not to forget my pair any longer.

Well, you can stop by one of the largest and the widest selection of binoculars available by visiting OpticsPlanet.com. OpticsPlanet.com is constantly adding more to suit every customer's need, and they have over 45 brands and nearly 1,000 different binoculars currently in stock. They have have specialists who make sure they help you find the best pair of binoculars that suits your need!

Wrigley Field Rooftop Club Website

In March of 2008, the Wrigley Field rooftop club was completed at one of the most historic sports settings in North American history. Wrigley Field has long been known for its green ivy along the outfield walls, and scenic view of the city of Chicago.

Ever since I was kid, I've been a Chicago Cubs fan. I remember as a kid when players like Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, and Mark Grace wore Cubs uniforms as they captured the hearts of their fans everywhere. For over 90 years, generations of loyal Cubs fans have come to Wrigley Field to cheer for their team.

Wrigley Field has been renovated with added features no other ballpark has, but no rooftop matches what the Wrigley Field Rooftop Club has to offer.

The Wrigley Field Rooftop Club has 9,000 square feet on three different levels: Rooftop Level, the Club Level, and the exclusive MVP suite. All three levels provide a clear view of the field no matter which level you are on. The Wrigley Field Rooftop Club has a seating capacity of 200 which is three times larger than any other rooftop available. The facility includes an elevator which has been ADA approved. Even better, the facility has a great rooftop bar and features 25 indoor and outdoor Hi-Definition LCD screens for fans to enjoy.

Do you want another reason to watch a game from the Wrigley Field Rooftop Club? In August of 2008, USA Today voted it as the Best Seats in the House at Wrigley Field.

When visiting their site, I was amazed at how easy it was to navigate to find more information and to see photos of the facility. The colorful site offers detailed rental information as well as a full list of menu items offered at the facility.

So if you're wanting to avoid the heavy crowds, then rent a spot at the Wrigley Field Rooftop Club for your next gathering. You've never experienced a game from a rooftop until you rent at the Wrigley Field Rooftop Club!

For more information and questions about the Wrigley Field Rooftop Club, you can reach them by email at info@wrigleyfieldrooftopclub.com or by calling them at 1-773-841-5070.

The 2009 season is underway, so come enjoy the "Friendly Confines" at the Wrigley Field Rooftop Club to cheer on the Cubs as they go for a third straight post-season appearance!

Random Blog Thoughts & Advice

I wanted to take some time today to post my thoughts and opinions on some of things to with blogging while it is fresh on my mind as well as provide some helpful advice to readers. These are my own opinions, and some of my friends already know where I stand on many of the issues I'm going to bring up. And besides, this is my blog and I invoke my right to these opinions on my own site.

Blog comments
After coming across a great friend of mine's site last night, I wanted to touch on this one first. Also, some of my other friends I've met recently have been attacked with this issue, too.

First off, I'm a strong believer in freedom of speech before I address my thoughts. However, common courtesy should be shown when visiting a site that isn't your own. Some of you that have left these immature comments act like we post in a reform of communism in the blogging community. In other words, it was your choice to read the person's blog. It is your choice to comment. It is also your choice to walk away and read something else instead of feeling the need to attack. There's no point in belittling anyone that you have a disagreement with. If you don't like the person and you have to resort to name-calling, then you have the right to read another blog just as much as the person has the right to their opinion.

Awards/Tags
Anyone that receives any award or tag is appreciated and liked by the person who presented it because of thinking of you. It is always honorable to receive praise from your peers in any profession. It is their way of thanking you for the support and being kind to them. Also, it can serve as motivation or sense of joy which I do know from my own experience was a big help to keep a good friend of mine from quitting on her blog.

When I personally tag or award anyone, it doesn't bother me how they handle posting it or not. I'm more than cool with it if they leave a comment on the post and go on with their day. At least they acknowledge you for it in someway, and appreciate you for the mention.

You have to remember that when you tag anyone, they have the right to handle it any which way they want. If they want to keep the award for themselves and not pass it to anyone, that's their choice. If you want to post it in your sidebar and not make a post, that's your choice, too. To me, there really is no "wrong" way for anyone to handle an award/tag the way they want to.

Furthermore, when you tag anyone, you also give them a chance to post it anytime they want to. No one is ever on any deadline to post awards, so do be patient with them because life does happen for all of us. Personally, if I was concerned about when someone posted their awards, I wouldn't be passing them out every time I receive them. Also, I know many at this time(myself included) have tags in line to be done, and that they keep coming to them. That should be more of a reflection on you as a blogger and friend than anything else.

Awards/Tags do help you build traffic and friendships with others. Being kind to other bloggers can go a long way for you in the community for traffic and friendships.

Page Ranking
Most of you that have come here have figured out that I don't post to get a Google PR. While it is nice to have a PR, it isn't the end of the world if I don't have one. Furthermore, there seems to be a misconception going around that just because you don't have a PR, that it means your blog isn't any good.

Well first off, I know plenty of New York Times Bestseller books that raked in tons of cash, but were universally panned by every major media critic. On that same note, plenty of movies have raked in tons of cash, but were also universally panned by every major media critic. My point is, just because your blog isn't ranked doesn't mean it isn't any good. It just means those with a PR are more visible in searches than those without one. That isn't meant to say that those with a PR have bad blogs, but it seems those have the mindset of thinking they don't have a good blog because of not having a PR.

Also, I must admit that having a PR does give you some more opportunities and advantages. Like for instance, if you're looking to get paid for posting, many sites won't pay you on posts unless you have a high enough PR. That also could be beneficial in getting other advertisers on your site as well. Obviously, your blog is widely seen in searches with a better PR, too. But don't fret or completely quit blogging just because you don't have a PR.

I started this blog in May of last year under another name, and I didn't get a PR until recently which it currently stands at a PR3. That's how it may go sometimes.

Ways To Build Traffic
OK, one of the first ways is to obviously link with as many sites and services as possible which is what most all of us know. I'm wanting to talk about a couple of the services I've used in recent months that have helped me not only build traffic, but friendships as well.

1. Chatbox(Cbox), ShoutMix, or related services
Without question, the best move I ever made on here was putting in a Chatbox after I seen what it had done for my good friend tripzibit. This is an easy way to build traffic, and meet new on-line friends.

Whenever you leave a comment on someone's chatbox, be sure to leave your link so that it is easier for the person to contact you back. If you don't it will make it harder to build traffic especially if you're not linked to sites you leave comments at. Some sites that use this service have found it more effective to faster communication and a way to protect your privacy because of not having to email someone about linking them.

You leave your link, and others will eventually be inclined to click on it. They stop by, they leave a message, and you build traffic. You reply back, and a relationship builds. This duplicates itself, and you start getting traffic from all over the world.

When I first used this service, I wasn't getting that many messages in my chatbox which is what one can expect at first. But after about a month, that changed in a big way. Now, I'm flooded every single day I login with messages on it which can sometimes be hard for me to catch up on. But it did exactly what I wanted it to do: Build traffic and friendships. Some of the bloggers that I consider my best blogger friends that you see me mention all the time were contacted originally by chatbox.

2. EntreCard
Now some of you may notice going around on chatboxes when someone says something like, "Dropped EC". EC means EntreCard. You'll notice mine under David's Links.

This is a great way for traffic as well, and is another way I've met on-line friends, too. All you do is go by site where you can find ads like mine, and right-clicking on the word "drop". When a person checks their inbox, they'll see you dropped their EC. More than likely, they'll drop yours back. If you have friends that use EC, then be sure to drop them so that it gives you more credits to use to purchase ad spaces on sites for more traffic.

Also, it would be wise to design your own 125x125 ad space if possible. I know of a couple of friends that can design some if need be. An attractive 125x125 ad can be of big help. Posting as often as possible helps build credits as well.

More often than not, you'll see many people offering EC credits for contest winners, too.

There are other sites that help, but I'm not as familiar with them as of right now.

If you want more advice on blogging, think stop Ovah Coffee where Maxi is very good in helping others. She's helped me before with advice, and is one of the most generous and gracious people I know. Some others like Twinks and Lainy are helpful, too.

That's all for now, and thanks for reading!
