1986: In the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics win their 16th NBA Championship with a 114-97 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 6. Larry Bird won NBA Finals MVP, and this would be the last championship for the franchise until 2008. Houston wouldn't get back to the Finals until 1994.

U.S. News
1887: Herman Hollerith is given a U.S. patent for the punch card tabulator.

1912: Carl Laemmle incorporates Universal Studios as owner along with Pat Powers, Mark Dintenfass, and Bill Swanson. Universal Studios is one of the most influential companies in American history.

World News
1987: In New Zealand, the Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act of 1987 is signed into law establishing a nuclear-free zone.

1992: At the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, World Oceans Day is proposed and celebrated.

Larry Bird always looked like he was moving at half-speed but noone was ever able to stop the guy lol Amazing player, and that shot of him walking away from the 3-point contest putting up his finger and walking away before the shot even goes in is just classic.

I had no idea Universal Studios was founded way back in 1912. Good stuff Dave
