Here's my 25 Things about myself. I was tagged by Mo Morrissey on Facebook for this, so I'm posting it here instead. I'm taking a more serious approach with these, and it's random things that pop into my head as I think of them. Enjoy.
UPDATE: I was tagged by Amy on March 17, 2009 for this same tag.
1. I am currently single and have never been married.
2. I'm the oldest of three siblings. I have one younger brother and sister. All three of us were born in three different states. I was born in Maryland, my brother in Mississippi, and my sister in Oklahoma.
3. I am right-handed and have bigger than average hands for a person at my height. I'm 6'2" and weight about 200 lbs.
4. The only time I've lived outside the USA was when I was 5-6 years old. I lived in Guam when my dad was stationed there via the Air Force.
5. I was a very shy and quiet kid in school for the most part. I had low self-esteem for much of my youth, but learning to get around positive surroundings has helped me out. I'm way more approachable and can carry on conversations better as an adult. And I'm very objective and respectful of others more than before, too.
6. My favorite sport as a kid was baseball. Now my favorite sport is college football.
7. My favorite sports team is the Oklahoma Sooners. The Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs are right there behind them.
8. I was good at baseball and basketball player in high school, but not great. I regretted for a long time about the lack of focus I had on either sport especially baseball. I've since moved on from that. I still play both sports when I can, and play quarterback in some flag football leagues, too. I still have a very good throwing arm.
9. I'm a former certified fitness trainer and I still work out all the time. It's one of my favorite things to do.
10. I'm a very active and competitive person, but respectful, too. Ironically, I carry much of the same attitude in blogging although I can respect or appreciate anyone's way of writing especially if they're kind and supportive. When I post something, I want it to be good. I'll hold off posting it for long periods of time until I have it the way I want. I've been known to go back and correct errors or grammar on posts I did months ago, too.
11. I don't smoke, and never have. I have no problem with people that do though.
12. I don't drink either because of a personal matter that happened in my teen years that won't discuss here.
13. I am one of the most healthy people you'll know and I seldom if ever get sick although I did this past week. In fact, I haven't caught the flu or anything related to that since I was in 7th grade which was over 20 years ago.
14. One of few times I got really sick was about this time six years ago when I had a rare and potentially fatal syndrome. I lost about 25 pounds in one month without knowing why and was constantly nauseated even after eating very lightly. I even had to take an HIV and cancer test as a precautionary measure because they didn't know how I lost the weight either(of course I tested negative for both). The problem was the pain medicine I was taking for headaches, muscle pains, and such. I don't take ibuprofen or naproxen any longer because the doctors said it ruined the lining in my stomach which resulted in constant nausea and rapid weight loss. I've gained the weight back, too.
15. I was once asked a few years back if I take steroids. I acted out a 'roid rage in response to that defensive questioning. The guy bought every second of it. NO, I DON'T USE(only kidding)! Seriously, I was asked and it probably was because of how often I worked out then.
16. I have the ability to look at someone with a very serious or mad look on my face, and joke around with them without them knowing it. A few months back, I did that to perfection at a job site I was at. I told the guy to not talk to me the rest of the day, and he knew what he did to make me mad(Of course he denied it). I even threw a few things on the floor to sell it while raising my voice, and then he went to my boss asking why I was mad at him. The boss said, "I know one thing: Don't you ever do it again". He said, "Do what?" My boss told me during lunch, and I laughed at it because he helped sell it. At the end of the day, the guy asked me what he did. I finally told him that you fell for it with me being mad at you! That's what you did! People take me too seriously, but that guy learned that day not to.
17. Some of the nicknames I've been called are: The Funk, Funkamania, Funkster, Boo Funk(thanks Kenny Kumar), Mad Dog, D-Funk, Da Funk, Doctor 'D(thanks Maxi). Of course I've been called nuts, crazy, and insane quite a bit, too.
18. I'm a big-time wrestling fan, but not like I used to be in terms of watching it on TV. I write wrestling storylines(BWE or Blog Wrestling Entertainment) as a lot of you know, and have been often told by some that they're better than what the WWE does. I can take anything I see on-line or in real-life, and turn it into a story.
19. My biggest pet peeve is pre-judgemental people. I personally have never understood it especially when it's judging someone's race or color.
20. I started my blogging career on Sporting News. I now own the domain rights to this site, and it's name comes from the song that WWE wrestler John Cena used a few years back called Basic Thuganomics.
21. I can rap(some call it poetry which is fine) about things more in slow-time than anything. I don't have a singing voice at all though.
22. I have accounts on Sporting News, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Associated Content, and Helium when it comes to writing. I don't use the tools that they have as much as I should, but all of them have value in some way.
23. Some of the funnest, yet stressful times I had in my life was when I worked in retail. I have pulled pranks on people at jobs as noted above, but I still did the job even though it was less rewarding than anything I've done.
24. I have never called out sick on a job. I have left to go home early a few times, but I show up even if I don't feel like it. I have called out for bad weather though.
25. I never missed a day of high school. In fact, I still have a plaque for that.
26. I'm adding another one anyway. My dream is to never work for someone else the rest of my life. It really has been a struggle working for someone because of how many times I've been laid off, let go, or company closing because of economic issues. I've never been fired from a job either. That's also part of the reasoning I like blogging is because I get away from the daily grind and let loose in my own way.
Thanks for viewing!

A more serious approach ... no kidding ... whew! ha ha ..
Actually, this reinforces who you are and why! I continually to appreciate the way you handle yourself in posts and comments ... always respectful, yet insightful and also humorous when necessary ... actually, in many ways, a blogging model.
Years ago I worked with a Funk .. and older guy with a lot of experiences. He was very athletic in his day. He played D-III football, and they were pounding the other team ... so after receiving a punt, he kicked it back.
Thanks David for the insight ... well done!
Cool list. This has been a fun little thing getting to know everybody.
Frank- That's ironic you say that about knowing someone with my last name. My dad was actually born in Youngstown, OH and says we have distant family there. Thanks for the kind words.
Lester- Thanks.
When I talked to Paul H last night, I thought of one that I really should've added to the list. But I'll add it here....
-Between my mom, dad, brother, sister, and myself, I'm the only one that has different colored eyes. They all have brown eyes while mine are green. I can't figure that one out.
It was nice to know more about you David. I like John Cena. I like watching wrestling too and ufc fights. My hubby influenced me. Anyways thanks for sharing this information. God Bless!
Mrs. Stevenson- I had no idea you liked Cena, wrestling, and UFC. Yeah, guys tend to influence women on that stuff! God Bless you as well and thanks for the comment friend!
On the eye color ... most people related to the classic brown-blue gene example as per textbook; however, eye color involves more than one gene.
Thanks Frank. I was not familar with that at all.
I like John Cena, thanks for sharing this information. God Bless!
masakan- Glad to see another person that likes Cena. Thanks for commenting and God Bless friend!

Maxi- It seems all my Pinay friends are short in height. But hey, you're all great people.
I like the support of wrestling in these comments, too! I had no idea about you liking wrestling either. Once again, husbands/boyfriends do that to women! LOL!
I think my friend on SN will be very happy that you stopped by.
Thanks for your continued support of me and my blog. You're such a kind and wonderful woman as well as excellent blogger, too.

[sorry, my english is rusty!]
Camille- I agree. It isn't for anyone to post anything about themselves on-line especially when it's personal.
Thanks for taking the time to comment!:)
