True Blogger Story: Mr. Cutten Paste

This was originally posted by fragnoli in early 2007, and copied by me on March 9, 2007. Yeah, I said I copied it! A brief background as how this came about....

In early 2007, a blogger on SN copied and pasted entries from various people including guys like morrisseyweb and myself. This continued until the staff came around to suspend the person who did this(you'll note that he's in one of the commercials).

So after this died down a little, fragnoli and I decided to lighten the mood up by having fun with the situation. After he originally posted it, I copied it over and posted it on my blog on purpose. This made for some pretty funny entertainment.

Now if you want one of the reasons why I copyrighted my stuff, this was one of them. So enjoy this original entry courtesy of us......

Fragnoli Films and BSFE Productions Proudly Present an undertaking unlike any other blog entry ever done. Tonight we want to welcome you to the True Blogger Story of Mr. Cutten Paste.

This is the True Blogger Story of Mr. Cutten Paste, a promising young blogger that rose to stardom quickly and watched it all crumble beneath him under scrutiny of plagiarism and poor penmanship. Things weren't always easy in the Paste household, as the family struggled to survive during the Reaganomics era in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Cutten grew up an only child but showed a strong aptitude for gaining the trust of others. He showed an aspiration for creativity and uniqueness that other kids clung to. During his elementary years, Cutten often wrote the best stories for Creative Writing assignments with his vivid imagination, so much so that he was published in 3-2-1 Contact magazine at the age of 12. However, success would go to Cutten's head and the pressure would begin to mount.

When we come back, Cutten Paste moves on to high school, where his creative mind isn't taken as kindly and he sinks into depression.

When we left our story, Cutten Paste was a proud young man who had the world before him. Upon entering high school, Cutten set out to prove his aptitude to his fellow students. He quickly found out that the rigors of high school life are not won with the mind, but with the appearance. He did not take kindly to being shunned at the peak of his life, so he tried to bury himself in his imagination. However, his rejection infected him with something he had not had to experience before in life; writer's block. Try as he might, Cutten could not channel the emotions he was experiencing in real life in order to regain his creativity. His grades began to suffer, as his depression and rage took hold on his real life and impacted his concentration. Without control of his imagination or real life, Cutten quickly let the depression swallow him.

When we return, Cutten Paste attempts to right the ship by taking the easy way out.

By the end of his high school days, Cutten Paste's life had turned upside down. Despite his strongest attempts, he could not regain what he had lost. Trying to rebuild his delicate psyche, Cutten enrolled in online chat rooms and on message boards. He would spend long hours of the night on the internet looking for inspiration, but it continued to elude him. Just when it appeared all hope was lost, Cutten stumbled upon a small blogging community where he could post his thoughts for all to see. Unfortunately, his years of emptiness had left him dry of things to say. However, he quickly found the path to the dark side.

After we come back from our last break, Cutten suffers his sorry end.

Blog Commercial:
Do you ever have that feeling where you can't think straight? How about constant mood swings? What about getting easily frustrated because of not coming up with an idea of something to write? Do you always have the urge to copy someone's work? These could be signs of a serious underlying medical condition called CPS(Copy & Paste Syndrome). While there is no cure for CPS, you can get help to treat it. There is a brand new medication called Unplagiarizime available if prescribed by your physician. Unplagiarizime can't eliminate CPS, but it can contain it. Some of the side effects of Unplagiarizime includes upset stomach, headaches, the sudden urge to the thumb & run, offensive posting, and unobjectiveness. Ask your doctor if Unplagiarizime is right for you. Unplagiarizime: We can't eliminate CPS, but it can contain it. Unplagiarizime.

Cutten Paste had found his outlet to an accepting world, but still lacked the voice to speak to it. Remembering something he had seen on the internet about plagiarism, Cutten finally found his path. believing himself to be the only surfer of the internet, Cutten began to look for some of the best written, yet obscure blog posts on the internet. Using the magic of the right click, Cutten would then transplant what he had read onto his own blog and pass it off as something he himself had written. It would only be once or twice, and then he knew the creative juices would begin to flow again. But once or twice quickly became continuous as his acceptance grew again. His addiction to have followers fed into his need to cheat.

Unfortunately for Cutten, the small blogging community soon caught on, as people began to read familiar entries, and Cutten's addiction made him sloppy about who he was copying. One by one, his fellow bloggers started to question his material until the pressure became too much. Cutten erased his library of postings and fled the blogging scene, never to be seen or heard from again. There was no more Cutten Paste, as the blogging community had simply cut him out. He's out there somewhere (Rumor has it that he is raising sheep in Wyoming), likely to surface again, but he will have to rebuild himself in a new light with a new crowd.

Alright folks, on behalf of BSF, myself, and our cast and crew, I want to thank you for viewing our little production here. This post was inspired by the struggles that some of our own have gone through recently and we wanted to do our part to help fight the good fight. BSF came to me and suggested I develop a post called Cut and Paste, and through teamwork, we developed the above with me providing the porgram and BSF inserting his outstanding commercials, which were intricate in making this post work.

I also need to draw your attention to that BSF is currently trying to establish on his blog. This is the ultimate way for you to recognize those folks who you feel exemplify the art of blogging here on TSN. All you need to do is send BSF a Private Message with the names of 10 bloggers (conditions on the previous link) who you feel should receive this great recognition. Remember, your votes determine who goes in. I've cast my ballot, be sure to cast yours.

Thanks again, and have a great plagiarism free night. Do you copy that?

EDITED.......

There seems to be a problem with plagiarism on this site! I can't for the life of me figure out why by looking at this! First, frag takes an idea I have and makes it his own(with my permission). Then, I copied his rough draft for this entry on PM when he sent it to me. Next, he copied my reply to his PM with the commercials included in them onto his blog. Now, I just copied his entire blog with the exception of one line! Do you copy that? I know it is tough to keep score at home on what I just said, but there has been too much of it with this entry.

I'm letting the community know that I am turning myself in on this problem since I am an honest man. But I do expect frag to do the same. Besides, I'm not going down alone for this! I hope that I am not going to be banned for this, and frag either. Just giving you all a fair warning that you may have to put in a petition on frag and myself returning!

You, the community, may want to give the I-Team a call because help is needed with this! Oh wait, me and frag are part of the I-Team, so forget that! I guess that means we really are on the run now, huh?

My next option would be to settle this dispute in a BWE ring, but I don't want to ruin the friendship of frag and myself on this! Not sure if he feels the same way, but I hope so. Then again, we could take this to court, too!

If this is my last post on SN, then I hope you all enjoyed what I have wrote on here. I hope you copied what I just said. I'll be contacting Jeff Gerttula about this matter and I hope they can forgive both frag and myself for this uncalled for plagiarism! So I'll save some of you that helped rid some of the serial plagiarists before the trouble of reporting it again.

While I am gone, I'll talk to my doctor about Unplagiarizime. I think it is safe to say that I need the strongest dose possible right now. I hope you guys understand how serious this condition can be as I'm infected by it now. I hope it will subside over time, and that I will be allowed to stay on SN. Same with frag!

Please pray that the medication will help, and that I can return to a normal state soon. Wait, normal and BSF should NOT be in the same sentence because I am creatively insane! I didn't show it on this post though!

That was great....I'm so glad I missed that guy...I would have tracked him down and beaten him.

BEEZE- There are few things that get to me on-line, but this guy really ticked Mo and I off in particular. And what's worse is that he kept doing it even after being caught and warned by us. For a period of time, plagiarism become a problem on SN. I had mine copied by someone else on the boards one other time, and this is why I copyright my stuff. As you know, it's much easier for someone to pull this kind of stunt on-line.

All that said, it was great to team with the great fragnoli on this.

Thanks for the comment.

Hey David... This post is very funny and clever. And terrifying! I have been meaning to copyright my poetry but just haven't gotten around to it. Now you've put the fear of God (or, rather, of Mr. Cutten Paste) in me!!

Charli- Thanks. Fragnoli deserves credit for this also.

You should checkout the MyFreeCopyright website link at the bottom of this page. You're a very good writer, so you've got to protect yourself.

Mr. Cutten Paste is a lowlife, wannabe journalist! LOL!

Thanks for the comment friend.

I didn't know about this in my TSN days, so thanks for sharing. I keep thinking several posts back when you mentioned copyrighting, but I've not yet acted. Shame on me! ha ha.

Good post ... and thank to Frag for his role in this.

Frank- LOL! I would at least look into copyrighting your stuff. It can happen to anyone. I will say it's somewhat pleasing that someone would want to copy our work, but it still doesn't make it right for them stealing it.

Yes, fragnoli was the MAN on this. I hope we get to team up again, too.

=)Felicidades!!!

Greta- Aww, you are so sweet. I've learned a little bit about the Portuguese language from a couple of new friends from your country. I had to use a translator for your comment because I'm very poor in that language. But I am learning.

I will visit your blog, and thank you so much for visiting mine as well as following, too.
