Okay, I'm going to provide you some help on who would be good offensive options for this coming Saturday's slate of games in college football. Once again, I'm only going to pick teams and players that are NOT facing D-1AA opponents. Keep that in mind. After this, I have some team names you can use for your fantasy football teams. I wouldn't call them clever, but hopefully you'll enjoy them. Check Lester's Legends' Clever Fantasy Football Names for some good ones to read!
Note: I'm not going to pick alot of games because they're are too many to keep up with. I'm just going to provide some that standout to me as well as some sleepers, too.
My team offensive picks for the week:
Tulsa offense vs Rice offense: This is the one game this weekend that will see an offensive explosion, and could see more points scored than any other game this year. Tulsa hasn't slowed down a bit on offense this year, and could lead the nation in production on that side of the ball again. Rice even got 400 yards of offense against a tough Vanderbilt team earlier in the year, and scored 77 points last week to lead all teams in scoring for the SN game. Tulsa has shown vulnerability in run defense, and Rice has given up 443 yards p/g this year. If you play in individual leagues, then pick up QBs David Johnson and Chase Clement.
BYU offense against Utah State: BYU has an explosive offense led by QB Max Hall. Utah State did well on defense against Idaho, but really, who hasn't against that team? BYU is a bit pricey, but I predict a big offensive showing for them this week.
Oklahoma offense vs Baylor: I like the job Art Briles is doing at Baylor, and he'll continue to positively build that program. Having said that, Oklahoma's offense has been very tough to stop with QB Sam Bradford running the show. I'm a little concerned as a Sooners fan with their running game, but they're too explosive in the passing game to be ignored here.
Memphis offense vs UAB: Memphis is averaging 468 yards p/g while UAB gives up 464 p/g. Arkelon Hall might be a good option at QB despite having a 4/4 TD/INT ratio. I'm going out on a limb with this one.
Bowling Green offense vs Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan has been getting torched on defense after giving up 43 points p/g on the season. Bowling Green is coming off a win against Wyoming in which they scored 45 points against them. This should be a solid play for Bowling Green this week. QB Tyler Sheehan is probably the best player to pickup in this contest for individual leagues.
Louisiana-Lafayette offense vs Louisiana-Monroe: The Warhawks have given up over 424 yards p/g while the Rajin Cajuns have gained over 464 yards p/g against some good teams. Cajuns RBs Tyrell Fenroy and Michael Desormeaux have both averaged over 100 rushing yards p/g, and will be facing a defense that gives up 188 yards on the ground. You can get the Cajuns offense for under $5 million in the SN game, too.
Akron offense vs Kent State: Akron has slipped a little on offense in recent weeks, but this could be chance for a good game offensively. Kent State has given up 450 yards p/g of offense, and allowed over 40 points p/g in their last three contests against D-1A schools.
Okay, those are some schools that could help you this week in fantasy college football.
Here's some more team names for fantasy football:
Delhomme Alone: Reference of the Panthers QB and the movie Home Alone.
Straight of Buckhalter: This is a parody name for the Straight of Gibralter that exists in Europe and of the Eagles running back.
Finnegan's Island: Gilligan's Island and Titans defensive player Courtland Finnegan.
LaDainianation X: LT with D-Generation X. You knew a wrestling one was coming!
Urlacher Thinner: A polished player and a polished team.
That's all I have for now. I'll have to see if I can come up with some better ones later.
Be sure to give a look to my Blog List of friends to the right of this page! They'll appreciate it!
